My Turn Color

Dominican artist Yohan Moreno paints us a surrealism piece. Painted with acrylic colors of black, blue, brown, yellow and red, this unique work of art has women in solid colors standing in the background whilst one has many colors watching them. The artist says: “It was a tribute to the National Symbols.” The national symbols of the (Dominican Republic) are the symbols used to represent this nation and its inhabitants inside and outside its territory. The Constitution clearly defines which are the patriotic symbols: flag, shield and national anthem. In addition to these, there are other material and immaterial elements that Dominicans have popularly accepted as symbols of “Dominicanness”. Some have been formally recognized as such through laws and decrees; others not yet.
