He was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and was educated at the National School of Fine Arts. He has participated in over 16 individual exhibitions, locally and internationally, in countries such as the Dominican Republic, Spain, Colombia, Guadeloupe, and the United States. From a young age, Stalin Cespedes was interested in art. He was born with a natural talent, and when he reached adolescence, he made the choice to study art. He appreciates acrylic paints for their fast-drying properties and is known for creating his own pigments. He is inspired by the female form, and focuses on the theme of birth and rebirth in his art. He uses signature colors, idiosyncratic forms, and strategically placed spaces for dramatic effect. He embraces the unknown, focusing on concepts that are thought-provoking, sparking discussions amongst the art community.
