Genaro Coste Félix

Genaro’s life has revolved around the arts since the age of 12 when his mother enrolled him in art school. His inspiration comes from the pastoral environment where he grew up; drawing pictures of animals as they gathered around his house during rain storms. His technique is based on what he calls the “Mother Technique,” which is oil on canvas, and involves the blurring and mixing of colors to get desired hues. When asked about his style he said, “I am accustomed to working in the style of costumbrismo because I was born in the countryside. That is why I am attracted to landscapes, the marina, still life, and much more.”
