Felix Laureano was born in Pedernales, Dominican Republic in 1974. From a young age he enjoyed drawing, and after a family move to Santo Domingo, his interest in painting grew. He eventually went on to study painting at the Instituto Comercial Hernández and did several workshops with Duba Cruz and Rafael Trinidad. Throughout his career, he has participated in over 24 group exhibitions, focusing on the nature and reality of the surrealist movement. He uses the mixed technique combined with acrylic to produce his signature textures. When asked about his art, Felix said, “With art I want to show that through it we can express ourselves without words.”
